Hunting the T-Rex
You may have followed the suggestion for hunting the T-Rex by luring it into deep water (where it moves slowly), and after killing it, it turns out the ship doesn't come to pick it up and so it doesn't show in your Trophy Room afterwards. If that's the case, someone should have warned you: when you kill a dino in the water, it will go down and they won't pick it up. I have a better strategy for hunting T-Rexes (without cheating) and getting them into the Trophy Room, I've used it both with Carn and Carn2 successfully. You go into deep water (be it the lake in the middle of Area 6 in Carn or the water surrounding the islands in any of the Carn2 areas). Oh, make sure you're using the radar, hunting T-Rex without radar may be almost suicidal (I've hunted the other dinos without radar to make it more thrilling, but T-Rex is, well, too much). Go as far away as you can from the shore that you can still see the land, and swim parallel to the coastline until you're close to a T-Rex (well, not really close, but that the T-Rex is within your viewing range or close enough using binoculars). You need to be carrying the sniper rifle for this, before I forget mentioning it. Call the T-Rex so it'll try to find you, go down into the water for a while so that he doesn't, then surface back as it's still sniffing. Take out your sniper rifle, and now you have to be very patient and calculate your shot, since you'll be bobbing up and down because of the waves. When the T-Rex isn't moving its head and compensating for the motion, shoot it in the eye. If you fail, well, you can always abort before it gets into the water after you (press ESC and then R to restart the hunt).
There is another way to hunt the T-Rex without cheating, but it requires nerves of steel and an excellent aim. Are you up to the challenge? Take the double-barrelled shotgun and go after some T-Rex, call it and just stand there with the shotgun drawn out as it charges after you (always make sure there is no more than a single T-Rex nearby). When the T-Rex is close enough, shoot it in the eye. Since the DB shotgun has a widespread target area, you don't need to aim as carefully as with other weapons. The inertia of its run will keep the T-Rex in your direction until it drops dead right by your feet (if it doesn't, it means you missed and it's still coming after you, so you better start praying to whatever god you believe in). I learned this method playing African Safari Trophy Hunter 3D, and actually, it works with other animals too, not just the T-Rex...

Spaceman99 suggests a couple more ways:
Shooting the T-rex from deep water works well using the DB shotgun because he will swim directly toward you, and you should be able to get off at least three shots.
For hunting on land, select the sniper rifle, and approach the T-rex from directly DOWNWIND (if he smells you, you are dead). As soon as he is sighted, switch to binocular mode and call him, keeping the center dot of the binocular sight on his eye. When he sights you, he will usually turn his head sideways to get a better look and pause. When he does this switch to the sniper rifle which will be pointed exactly where the center dot of the binocular sight was. Make a quick correction if needed and fire. You may be able to get off two or three shots before he charges and eats you.
Good Hunting

Hunting the Bonus Creature
Well, to get to hunt the Bonus Creature, you must be able to pay for the license, which costs 1000 (plus, of course, access to a hunting area and at least a weapon, so try to get 1100 to be sure). Hmmm... are you really sure you want to hunt Yetis? Yes, that's it: the Abominable Snowman, a 10-foot-tall ape with a very bad attitude. If you've made it this far, you may really enjoy this game, but the Yeti is by far the most difficult thing to hunt. I've managed to hunt one, so far, and I prefer to keep hunting other animals until I have enough to go with a good assortment of weapons when I have to confront the Yeti. The Yeti is pretty much the most dangerous, may I say, even mischievous of all beasts in CarnIce (and maybe you can consider it even worse than the T-Rex...). It goes monkeying around pretty silent, and you can barely see it against a snow background, even while using binoculars (the auto-identification is really helpful here). And unlike carnivorous dinosaurs, which may eventually manage to climb up when you're standing on top of some hill but give you enough time to shoot them before they reach you, this critter is a quick, agile climber and will be on you in virtually no time. Your best bet is to try to hunt it on Area 2, the Bridge of Ravaren, where there isn't much snow but green forests instead (good place to hunt wolves too, BTW). But it's not only a good climber, it's also a fast runner, so don't attempt to meet it in the open; instead, go to the bridge, climb the stairs, and walk to the middle of the bridge. Once there you should be safe enough to be able to shoot a Yeti by luring it with the call. If you're too far away from the bridge when you start, it's a good idea to restart the level (press 'ESC', then 'R'): Yetis are deadly, so the odds against you making it alive to the bridge are very high.

Notas/Notes:
This isn't completely true, the carnivores won't detect you (even though they perceive you in a way), but the herbivores can detect you if you get too close to them, and some can even attack you, killing you. In Carnivores: Ice Age, both the carnivores and the herbivores may kill you if you get too close. This is valid both for the cheat as for the Observer Mode.
